I see in my awstats that the majority of my visitors are hitting the following page: http://redtractorfarm.com/pngfix.*** When I follow this link it does not lead to any page that I have published. What is this and does it need to be changed? Thanks as always... |

Yiasus, Marcie! Bots and spiders are focusing on a small file that has been installed to manage your images, usually within a template or Javascript. If you are using LightBox, this is almost always included with the utility. I totally forget the details of the pngfix file, but using Blue FTP you can locate it in your public_html/ directory and copy it "down" to your computer safely, delete it from the server and see if it disturbs your image management. If it does, simply use Blue FTP to copy it back up (to repair). You'll find more options and explanations here. |

The pngfix is used to allow images with .png extension to be displayed correctly in Internet Explorer 6. You don't need to do anything with the file, just leave it intact where it is. Its at the top of your list because it is considered a hit when the javascript file is loaded. If you have 5 files that use pngfix.js, and say each page is visited 100 times, you will have 500 hits on the pngfix.js, which far outweighs any individual file. To my knowledge SE bots don't look at js files.

It is an auto installation to view your .png photos. Leave it alone.
