I installed Wordpress and I was wondering about the tutorials on downloading themes and plugins to my cpanel via FTP. I installed another blog when I opened an account with Yahoo Business and I didn't need to download to my website(cpanel). I was able to download right from Wordpress. I could download one of the themes in my blog or I could go anywhere online and download right into Wordpress. The same with the plug ins. I was able to download right there in Wordpress. Do I still need to download to my cpanel even if I can do it in Wordpress? dancing-spirit.net Last edited by touchedbyanangel; 09-16-2009 at 02:13 AM. Reason: email notification |

I wanted to reply to my own question in case someone else needs the answer. Since asking the question, I did "acidentally" find the answer somewhere in here. Even though I CAN download a theme right in Wordpress, I still had to 'connect' BluFTP in Blue Voda. I guess I had to do this so the Theme, I download, will automatically go to my cpanel. Which it did. Wordpress asks you to log in. This is what I entered: HOSTNAME- IP address (entering 'localhost' didn't work) USERNAME- mmv.... all those letters VodaHost assigns you when you open an account PASSWORD- chi.... again, all those letters VodaHost assigns you Hope this helps someone. This forum is awesome but "the answer" can't always be found right away. Maybe someone will "accidentally" find their answer in this thread. Kat |
