Default Incorporating Open Realty in a Blue Voda site

Hi everyone

Can anyone help me please....
I am in the process of re-designing a website for a one man band Estate Agent (or Realtor, for those of you over the pond who talk funny lol!). The new site is being designed using Blue Voda, but his existing site isn't. His current property listings are in an Open Realty database, which I know is available to me via Fantastico.

My question is this.....can I incorporate Open Realty directly into the Blue Voda designed pages, and if so, how do I do it? I downloaded O.R. myself to have a play with it, but so far I cannot see how I would get it to operate within a Blue Voda site.

Got 2 more sites riding on getting this right so any assistance much appreciated

Clare

It won't, Open Realty is a stand alone program, like a shopping chart or forum. you could try using a iframe but i can't see the point on that one.
the best way would be to make the bv pages the same as the O.R ie: using the header image menu and so on making the bv pages look like the O.R.

Hi,

By the above you mean the website is hosted by VodaHost?

If so you can install Open Realty via Fantastico Deluxe from your cPanel.

Yes, it is hosted by Vodahost. I did download O.R. using Fantastico, but the problem is that I designed the page template (that the client is very happy with) using Blue Voda and it doesn't look as if I can incorporate the O.R. programme.

I put the cart before the horse methinks!

Thanks both of you

Clare

Hi ... make another directory and install OR there .. and then link from your blue voda page to this .. this way you can have your blue voda page as the index, and any other pages you like, with a link going to OR for the properties.

You might simply install it as a sub-domain (or better as an add-on), and then "present" the installation on your BV-created "template" via an iFrame......for all intents and purposes, it will perform as if it was directly installed.

I'm trying to get some advice concering Open Realty. When I attempt to install and go to the user site URL, I get the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/jgmbgvhg/public_html/househunterforyou/reinfo/template/lazuli/main.html on line 1

I am able to go to the admin site but not the user site. I've installed and reinstalled three times . . same thing. I've installed, with no problem, other Fantastico programs such as WordPress blog. It seems the install procedure is exactly the same and I believe I'm following the instructions carefully. . ..I can't figure what I'm missing.

On another note. ..if I mis-posted previously, my apologies. . .I thought that this particular problem was somewhat different than the particular issue discussed here. . .I probably could use a little guidence on this if I'm am misunderstanding proper forum protocal. Thanks

I don't know what's wrong with me today. . .I'm a bit sick today. . . .I just saw my original post. .. .I thought it was deleted and figured I must have violated some procedure. . .but whoops. .. there it is. . .very very sorrow for the double post
