Import them to where? To his Joomla? Again the instructions are to be found at JOOMLA.

You cannot import them and use as is in BV if thats what you want to know. You can publish them in joomla and import to BV but you will have some errors and fixing to do.

So, Karen...
What you are saying is... VodaHost can only be used as a host for Joomla type templates? (aka published Web pages).
I have a few questions??

1) Once a Joomla file system is resting safely on the VodaHost servers, What editor can or should be used for editing graphics, ad content, page properties and everything that is connected with the pages?

2) Can the BlueVoda Editor be used for Joomla template editing?

3) Depending on the template being used, will there be specific settings that have to be set or changed within the control panel?

4) Do you recommend using BV/VH for this type of app? What I mean is, Is there enough forum help for the Content Management System to assist people instead of sending them to Joomla for help?

Thanks
Randall

No.. what i said was Blue Voda cannot EDIT OR MAKE JOOMLA TEMPLATES. Joomla is html coded. Blue Voda isnt an html editor but it generates html. It doesnt generate it the same way as an html editor would.

1) Once a Joomla file system is resting safely on the VodaHost servers, What editor can or should be used for editing graphics, ad content, page properties and everything that is connected with the pages?

An HTML editor

2) Can the BlueVoda Editor be used for Joomla template editing?
No.. this is a redundant question. They arent compatible.

3) Depending on the template being used, will there be specific settings that have to be set or changed within the control panel?
Yes you may have the option of generating what sidebars, menus etc are shown on the joomla skin

4) Do you recommend using BV/VH for this type of app? What I mean is, Is there enough forum help for the Content Management System to assist people instead of sending them to Joomla for help?

Voda host can serve up the app just fine.. your confusion is thinking the Blue Voda is an all purpose html editor. Its not.. its a builder that generates html pages by what you drag and drop on the page. Blue Voda is not compatible with anything but blue voda!! Its propietary software. Not everything can mix and match

Why is this so difficult to understand?

Thanks
Randall

Let me make this perfectly clear...

I could import a template from joomla to bv, i could edit that template in bv ...HOWEVER.. I COULD NOT TAKE THAT TEMPLATE BACK TO JOOMLA AND MAKE IT WORK...it would only work in BV.

Joomla like soho, oscommerce and any other php application and self contained builder has rules and files that it uses to generate the templates/skins correctly and dynamically. You build the look of ALL PAGES within the JOOMLA program. Alot of this is done by php includes and database structure-

Blue voda is a STATIC PAGE BUILDER.. its builds a site PAGE BY PAGE..it is a WEB PAGE GENERATOR, NOT A SITE BUILDER..and while you can code some things into ..it is not made to DYNAMICALLY generate pages based on a data base.

You are trying to mix instant mashed potatoes and cheese cake to make a pot roast and substition of one for the other wont MIX.

Believe it or not, This answered a lot of my questions!

I truly thank you for taking your time and giving me/us your insight on Joomla. I may be a lot **** when it comes to learning something, but if I don't know (as the vodahost welcome letter states) I will Ask.

If you think I'm making a mountain mountain out of a mohill, forgive me

Thumbs up Re: joomla template

As we discussed on the phone, we will get your Joomla site totally straightened out when you visit. It should take less than an hour for you to do yourself with personal supervision, so you get the real hang of things .....
