    It's too hot to dance.
I say just being able to throw the Shaman another chicken should do it, though. It will probably end up in his lap already cooked!

We're still suffering our heat wave here - but not for much longer! It's forecast to break when I go on holiday - and guess what? Will warm up when I get back to work again!

I must have upset the big guy!

Where abouts are you? The skies got a bit dark, but we didn't get a single flash or lightning or drop of rain here! Feeling disappointed! I love a good storm!

    About the same, the formula is 92F -32 X 5 / 9 = 33C

    or better yet F - 32 divided by half = +/- 30

The UK is centigrade, liters and miles, right ?

LOL Centigrrade I have to live with as it's all thats on the weather forecasts nowadays - I still measure in feet and inches though, and cook using good old fashioned ounces, weight myself in stones and pounds, and drink in pints (well, perhaps not too many of those!). Funnily enough my 12 year old is bi-lingual in that sense - or he has to be around me!

Lol, I can't add 3 digit numbers, especially after too many pints. Highschool physics, ugh.

CP! You're in CA, I thought you'd had your 'cold' spell a couple of weeks back? My friend in So Cal tells me it's in the mid 70's this week! That's barbecue weather over here! Lol

We awoke to a ground frost this morning but it is another beautiful day full of bright sunshine and blue skies. Quite warm in the sun, too.

Yeh it was cold on that day, the house didn't warm up and my jeep didn't want to start, but she went, lol........I don't have oil heat, I have electrical heat. I do the budget thing because one month can be over $700.00 for my power and heat, and that's just not in the budget........so they spread it over the months and I have a set rate. Approximately $2500.00 for the year for power & heat, so that works for me. I pay around $200.00 per month every month. You guys have all this nice summery weather, we don't see too much of that. Usually July, August, sometimes we have good weather in May & June, September is a beautiful month to be here, not too hot, not too cold and the leaves are so pretty. If you visit, this is the month to come to Canada. That's my opinion anyway. Other people may say differently.

CP - have I missed something? Did you want a pic of my dragons? Let me know what you want and I'll send them. Don't try and steal them from my site as all my sites have very clever technology and the PC of anyone who steals them will melt. Yup, melt. Total meltdown.

Oh, well, worth a try. Knew no one would believe it (but boy wouldn't that be good?) Go ahead and take what you want - everyone else does! LOL

Thanks for the info on best time to Visit! I would not know that and since I've never been to Canada I would love to go sometime soon. September is a great month to travel to, since kids are back in school!! We have gas heat here and our monthly gas bills run around $80/month. Of course, hubby keeps the thermostat set at 58, so we wear coats and sweaters alot, inside the house!! I am so looking forward to Spring and Summer!!

    Hi, LE!

Yeppers, she's talking about heating the house. Lol Ours works out at about $100 pcm for gas and electricity. That would be gas central heating and cooker with electricity for everything else including the shower. For a single person you might be able to knock $20 off that. I am tight with my heating though. Lol That's US$ equivalents of UK£.

    Hey Amanda

Wow, I guess you'll be surprised to hear what my heating here at my house is ... you will no doubt fall off your chair .... I will have three back to back power bills ranging from $850.00 to $1100.00 - my bill on an annual basis will be around $4500.00 - hmmmm ...... my other three bills will come in around $300 - $450.00 each ....

I agree with you DL, September is a good month for travel.....it's nice in Canada if you like wilderness, not so much in the cities, but definately outside the cities. Lots of nice RV parks. You have a nice heating bill, wanna trade.........err I know you won't, thought I'd ask anyway.

lol Bill........we export more than we import, but our prices are regulated by NY stock exchange. We produce it but don't refine it.

In the summertime, (traveling time) our gas for our vehicles rises from .77 to $1.30 a litre all within a four month period.........strange eh? (I may be off a few cents)

It starts rising the first long weekend in May, then continues to rise until Labor Day Weekend, where as you almost can't afford to go for a drive.

Just wanted to make this post clearer:

Canada does have refineries, not enough for all the oil produced.

Anyhow, fuel prices are high no matter what.......and it's cold out. lol

Canada does have refineries, not enough for all the oil produced.

Anyhow, fuel prices are high no matter what.......and it's cold out. lol

lol CL .... I can't see the difference ... did you mean you produce but you don't refine ..... lmao ....

It's not even oil for me, I don't use the stuff, well a little bit with my salads the odd time when my vinegar needs taming, lol .... I am talking about Power .... the Electric stuff .... yeah that is what my bill is all about.

Now if anyone really feels that bad, well you know what you can do .... buy me more wooly socks. .... lmao ....

Oh is that all it is out there today, you must be forgetting the windchill factor ... this weather really needs to break or we won't get 100 cm of snow all at once and be snowed in for 8 days ....

hmmm ... which do u prefer? lol ........ I'll take the socks, please ... lol

We complain here in Vegas when it drops below 40 - you can tell the locals from the tourists - we are all bundled up and they are walking around in shorts and t-shirts.
Our summers kill us bill wise - have 2 big central air conditioners that run 24/7 during the summer - $400/500 not unusual. You can only take so much off - but then IT IS DRY HEAT! yeah sure!
last few days have been in high 60 to low 70s very nice and no wind

CL and LE: Our winter utility bill for Gas (Heat), Electric, Water and Sewer, averages around $120 a month. Of that about $80 is for the Gas Heat. In the summer our total utility bills runs about $90 per month. The Gas drops to about nothing, but the water jumps to about $60 of that. After seeing what you are paying...omg...and here I thought our bills were high! LE...do you live in a Mansion? Our house is only 1800 sqft..a small tri-level. We don't even have weather proof windows. We were going to get some this winter, but they wanted $18,000. We figured it out and found it would take us almost 20 years to get our money back to make it worthwhile. Forget that! Can't complain right now...the weather here this last week has been beautiful up in the 30 to 50 range. Nice after having that cold spell around Christmas. All of our snow is almost all gone now! Spring is around the corner!! yippee!!

lol Cindy ... yeah the electricity is very very pricy here, I have electric for my heat ... About $13.00/day for heat and lights ... now that includes the taxes on my bill, which with last months bill (we receive 6 a year, so they are for two months at a time) taxes were just under $120.00

No I do not live in a mansion, lol ... in fact there are very few of those around at all anyway, lol ... 2 levels, around 2100' - very normal .. a wood stove or pellet stove downstairs would definitely help, but then you have all of that to go along with it, mess, lighting, checking flu systems, etc., higher insurance, so blah .... and yeah there are things that I could potentially do that might reduce it by about $500/annually .. but blah blah blah again ... lol

And I heard on the news that New Brunswick, which is a bordering province is expected to take a large hike in their electricity, I can only imagine Nova Scotia will follow suit ... hmmmm .... oh goody ...

Thanks for that CL ... let's hope it is a bluff as these storms can go either way ... actually always lowers the heating bill if there is three feet of snow insulating the house outside .... maybe that is what we need instead of all this cold cold wind .....

We didn't end up with a big snowstorm, it rained and the wind blew all night, started around 4pm on Wednesday and didn't let up until the wee hours of the morning, power flickering on and off. They are building a new subdivision right behind my house so there has been blasting going on consistently which knocks my internet off the air.......anyways with all the digging going on, this morning when I went out to my jeep it looked liked I took it 4 wheel driving in the mud. Huge sign blew over at the begining of my street, pretty windy ol' night. No snow though.
