I was thinking the same.... I was looking for more info about how far accross some of those galaxies etc stretch and couldn;t find any relating to the pic's but with our own galaxy....
WOW
Travelling at the speed of light (186 thousand miles per second) it would take 400 years to get from one side to the other.... Apparantly LOL
Now get this for a paradox. I cannot remember the name of the institution, somebody here might know but 'they' are working on what can only be termed as hyperdrive engines. Saw a documentary about it, here is the problem and for the sake of making the maths easy I am going to round it back down to the year 2000...
let's say the first hyperdrive spaceship launched in 2000. The technology involved would mean it would still take 80 years to reach Alpha Centauri (our nearest neighbouring star). Ten years later the technology would be available to make an engine twice as fast so...
leave our planet in 2000 arrive in 2080
leave our planet in 2010 arrive in 2040 - leave 10 years later but arrive 40 years earlier than first space ship LOL
Economics, aint it a b****
Live long and prosper......
LOL Kassi ... Yeeeess sounds a bit geeekish but.. I cant even comprehend 186,000 miles per second and I certainly can't comprehend it for a total time of 400 years. And that's just our galaxy.
It's life Jim but not as we know it :D
<checks the mirror to make sure he hasn't got pointed ears>
Damn it Jim Im a photographer not a web designer!...lol
LOL and Jim and Bones! Damnit Jim I am a Doctor not an engineer! Calculate your own speed/distance equations, I have patients to see to!
Ah canny dooooo-it cap'n ah durnt have the pooower :)

Not silly at all Kate...I think little things like that make a difference...it's like strangers commenting on our sites and helping us make our websites better...ok not the best example but what I'm saying is we never know what something means to soemone else.Originally Posted by kassi59
