Default Math Challenge

Fill in the blanks with the appropriate math symbol :
example:
1 1 1 = 6

2 2 2 = 6 would be 2 + 2 + 2 = 6

3 3 3 = 6

4 4 4 = 6

5 5 5 = 6

6 6 6 = 6

7 7 7 = 6

8 8 8 = 6

9 9 9 = 6

Sorry bill my key pad isn't big on math symbols how about 4+4-sqroot of 4
and 5 squared+5 divided by 5
7-(7divided by7)
That all your getting from this guy, after all I need to takeoff my ***** to count to 21.
ok one more
squareroot of 9+square root of9+ 9 to the 0 power
this would be a lot easier to write if the key board did exponential values, sin, cosin, and sigma notations it's all childs play for the right child the number of ways to write a number=the number ways to put a photo on a web site LOL

Try using noneuclidian geometry theroms to explain to the cop why the reason you can't walk a strait line is there's no such thing as a strait line.

You guys are good. Not sure about the 9 Circus close though. Still a few to be solved.

So far:

1 1 1 = 6

2 2 2 = 6 would be 2 + 2 + 2 = 6

3 3 3 = 6 3 x 3 - 3 = 6

4 4 4 = 6

5 5 5 = 6 5squared + 5 – 5 = 6

6 6 6 = 6 6 x 6 / 6 = 6

7 7 7 = 6 7 - (7 / 7) = 6

8 8 8 = 6

9 9 9 = 6

8 8 8 = 6

9 9 9 = 6

Hi Bill,
Is this genuine or trick, or am I going to chuck more calculators out the window.

Genuine math exercise. And there are more than one way of solving. Example two other solutions: 5/5+5=6 or -7/7+7=6

Very good NavalDesign
8 8 8 = 6 the 2 is not valid.
It is actually the cube root: 38 +38 +38 = 6

9 9 9 = 6 is also: 2√9 + 2√9 +2√9 = 6

Yes, 38 +38 +38 is ok. But also, 4√( 8+8 ) = 4√(16) = 2 So 8 –4√( 8 + 8 ) IS 6

Instead, 2√9 = 3 so 2√9 + 2√9 +2√9 = 9 and NOT 6

You are right, I didn't work the whole formula through and didn't see it 4√( 8+8 ) = 4√(16) = 2

2√9 + 2√9 +2√9 = 9 should be 2√9 + 2√9 - 2√9 = 9 my typo.

2√9 + 2√9 - 2√9 = 3 !

My knowledge doesn't reach the "Factorials (1+1+1) ! = 3 ! = 3 x 2 x 1 = 6"

I might have done something like that sometime 25 years ago, but don't remember it any more.

And since i like going through what i don't know, here is:

BY THE SYMBOL n! ("n factorial") we mean the product of consecutive numbers 1 through n.
n! = 1· 2· 3· · · (n − 2)(n − 1)n = n(n − 1)(n − 2)· · · 3· 2· 1
The order of the factors does not matter, whether backwards or forwards.

0! is defined as 1.

0! = 1

Example. 6! = 1· 2· 3· 4· 5· 6 = 720

Thanks Bill, it's been quite useful.

It's a good thing you don't make as many typos as I do.
LOL...You know I never realized how awful my typing is until I got on this forum...I am the worse one here...even my spelling & grammar have gone kaput ...I think I still have my head on though <checking abov neck carfully to make sure>

With my health issues I can't drink, but I can't multitask without a few belts. Think I'll need to pass on that challenge. It's just too confusing.
Do you walk while chewing or chew while walking. The confusion makes me want to drink. The drinking gives me a reson to be confused. Now look what you've started. LOL
