    Question Our Company Name

    Hiya Folks!

I am at a somewhat aggravating delema. I need some imput from the greatest techies on earth ( that would be all my friends here at voda :o) )

Ok My wife Sheri owns her own gardening/landcaping business it's name is
M'Lady's Garden Company. I want the name of the site that I have been building for the last two months to be mladysgarden.com; however I am worried that the M in the beginning will confuse some people. Oh by the way our business name is pronounced Muh'Lady's Garden ... but is spelt M'Lady's Garden.. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I guess I could use m-ladysgarden.com, but it just doesnt look right to me... Any imput would be much appreciated guys/gals.

    PS Mr VodaHost,

I apologize in advance if this thread is in the wrong forum.

    Hi Brent,

I love the name BTW and I think you would be ok with mladysgarden.com...in this age of shortening everything I think most people will not find it to be a problem...that's my thought on it.

    Easy to remember too...

    Beez,

Thanks for your response hun. Sheri came up with the name. She is about the most creative individual that I have ever met.

    Costume Lady,

It's funny you should use the word medievil. LOL. She is in the process of making our Ren. Fest Costums. We are boths Scotsmen this year ... or should I say Scotspersons? LOL. We went and bought the rest of the cloth and re-enforcement fabric last night ... now just gotta find myself a really big sword, and a brooch for my great kilt. >:o) come October I'll be showing off my knobby knees. Might be making a new avatar out of some pics from it too.

Definately, caught my interest...M'Lady is a medieval term before the 14th century...rennaisance is a favorite of mine. Do you know the name of the tartan, or just not that into it....don't forget your sporn and jabot! Good for you guys, having fun.

    Hey!

What is the town/city you live in? Let's say Toronto. You can say www.torontolandscaping.com instead of complicating things with tons of mombo jombo limbo writing .. because that it s the one thing I hate is when you see people with www.dhdfhgdhgf.com and you can type it in or you forget it, or its on a billboard and your going by in the car and you dont have enough time to see what it says, haha!

So something easy and catchy will catch someone's eye and make sure it is easy to remember if they see it like on the truck or something like that so when they get home they can go on the computer and remember.
    Best regards,
    Jeremy

haha! I couldn't think of a name but sometimes you might see www.saveourplanettoday.com just as an example - don't know if it's an accual site but if that were a link I wouldn't bother looking or trying to figure out what it says because its to long and all the words are cramped :P

    Jeremy,

Thanks for your insight. I am still undecided. Though I think I will go with a variation of mladysgarden.com. Still not sure though. I value all imput of different opinions though! Thanks!

    Costume Lady,

My avatar is the tartan we'll be wearing....

    Hey Brent!

The domain www.mladysgarden.com for me would be to complicated. Already I had a hard time reading it in your post, so make sure if you advertise outside your place that you have a big font.

    Let me know!!!:D
    Best regards,
    Jeremy

I am a very simple person... you get me a cool hi tech robot toy with remote control and all.. I'll open it very excitidly and spend most of my day palying with the box.. muhladygarden.com is more obvious that it means muhladygarden.com in contrast to mladygarden.com which may not necessarily be read by some as muhladygarden.com.. Did I mention I was simple..??

Carlos you took the words right out of my mouth! ...I was going to say why not just call it muhladysgarden.com then lol ..great name and .makes perfect sence to me ...and sorry I have to disagree with you Jeremy... I think the name of a website reflects not only what a website is but gives it personality and warmth.......too many what I call robot sites about ...to me they are boring cold and uninviting ......my website name must have given you a headache then lol .....

So far myladysgarden.com is holding the highest level of interest, but please by all means continue to speculate. We need all the help we can get!

i like the name Brent, it has all sorts of meanings and neednt only be about landscaping which is good for getting visitors who are interested in garden topics other than landscaping, might be worth a thought to add a few sections with related topics as well as your main topic. doing that will raise your number of visitors.

mladysgarden might be quite a long name and i agree with the others, sometimes it really doesnt help but yours is easily remembered and, an important thing for me which i always try to think of when choosing URL's, the letter placements on the keyboard... it's easy to type ;)

I totally agree mate. I have a tools of the trade page in construction that we will be reviewing the " pros and cons of " - of the tools we use - for informing the land owner - and hopefully for promotion of that tool, either by affiliate, or by adsense ...

also hopefully in the future I will be trying to review and promote lawn and garden furniture, statues, and garden knick knacks. Hopefully the site will continue to evolve, but at the same time, we are still trying to gain customers for our business ... so I cant loose sight of that one important goal amid all the promos/affiliate programs... I highly appreciate your imput mate. Thanks!
