Thread: The Big Sale

It was the day of the big sale. Rumors of the sale (and some advertising in the local paper) were the main reason for the long line that formed by 8:30, the store's opening time, in front of the store.

A small man pushed his way to the front of the line, only to be pushed back, amid loud and colorful curses. On the man's second attempt, he was punched square in the jaw, and knocked around a bit, and then thrown to the end of the line again. As he got up the second time, he said to the person at the end of the line...

"That does it! If they hit me one more time, I won't open the store!"

Good one, they line up here about 4AM......They are crazy

Well those British formed a proper line before opening, just how they also form those neat lines for busses. But after Harrods opened it was like a war zone ! Although London is great !

Awe pushing and running, yeah I can just imagine ...

I think the funniest thing I ever encountered was at a flea market, or carboot as perhaps you may call it ....

Lots of people waiting to get in, did not open until 9:00 am, it was 8:45 am ..people would held back by a few guys at the front standing there .. and a very loud gentlemen at the back of the line up shouted "Okay, let them in" and the crowd took off into the market, lol, no stopping them ...

I saw that also once at a fleemarket for the Church. In Ducht you have many names for those markets, on the national fest (Queens day) half the country is selling and buying form each other, every place has really big markets than, they start in the night and people are claiming the hotspots for days !

Yeah, I really like the flea markets, etc., In NY they are all over the streets, every day and night, well at least they were when I was there .... but unbelievably so, everything was much more expensive there than at home here ..... with most of the american goods, it is the other way around for us, well at least it is with new stuff, but not with flea market stuff .... i was kind of shocked...
