Default Perks of being over 50

    PERKS OF BEING OVER 50

    1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

    2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.

    3. No one expects you to run--anywhere.

    4. People call at 9 pm and ask, "Did I wake you????"

    5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

    6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

    7. Things you buy now won't wear out.

    8. You can eat dinner at 4 pm.

    9. You can live without sex but not your glasses.

    10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

    11. You no longer think of speed limits as challenge.

    12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the
    room.

    13. You sing along with elevator music.

14 Your eyes won't get much worse.

    15. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

    16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.

    17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember
    them either.

    18. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.

Actually the above items are not to far off. When I hit 50, I felt wiser and free'er without feeling restricted in what I do or say. I look at it as a ticket to speak my mind (yea...even more than I already did). My 8 year old son tells me, I'm old lol. I asked him... If you knew you could only live to be 20, would you think you were old at the age of 8? Of course his answer was no. I told him..well I'm shooting to live to be 100, so at 51, I feel pretty darn young and I have him to thank for that. You are only as old as you feel!!! Right?

I was thrilled to hit 40, I don't remember why, but I think it was just that the dread of it was over at last.
My body started flipping out then - arms got too short for my sight, that sort of thing.
50 didn't bring anything new, except more of the patience and humor that started building after 40, and those are good things, I think.
Now, at 57, I am considerably more amused by the dramarama that used to consume me..
Wonder what 60 will be like?

Hi there, yes very busy, not had too much time to pop in here lately. I was asked to do a proper site for someone the other day, but I think I'll have to turn it down (they want an online shop and the works which would be a new direction for me!) I'll end up with loads of unfinished sites if I'm not careful! I know I have another 2 sites which I've been asked to do in the New Year. One is for the farrier which will be fine (free *****! (Horse that is)), and one if for a s**** metal yard! Not sure I will be able to get enthusiastic about that!!

    How are you doing?

    LOVE #18!

Except for the minor (said with tongue in cheek) inconvenience of eyes that started to go bad at age 40 ~ which was 8 years ago ~ and the other minor inconvenience (this one's a downright lie ~ it's HUGE) of NEVER being able to find the damn reading glasses, no matter how many pairs I buy and keep in each room ~ other than that~ it just keeps getting better! Bring it on!
