Its a hard disk in 1956....

The Volume and Size of 5MB memory storage in 1956.

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5MB of data.

Makes you appreciate your 4 GB jump drive, doesn't it?

LE...Well it looks like a big spool of thread to me!! But then couldn't figure out why it would be so big...and why Bill would be posting a pic of a sewing machine!! lol Should have known better!!

In 1956 Boeing introduced the 707 but I suspect this was a cargo plane post war, so had to have been a 133, maybe a Constellation. It does look to have been a pressurized cabin.

Sorry.....was out sick for the first time in years!

OK....I did the best I could using the typwriter, but it is an airel view of a traditional Chinese farmer riding a bike! (you know, with the woven straw hat?)

next time I think I'll have to scan a drawing.....LOL

no clue im going to say some type of refrigeration unit????
