Welcome! I'm relatively new also, and I think you'll find the people here nice and helpful (just watch the tutorials first, they seem to get grumpy if you don't, sshhh).
If your "dream" seems to be turning into a nightmare, just step away for a moment, have some coffee, a cigarette, a jog around the block, or whatever you do to clear your mind, then jump on that back on that 'mare and keep on trying. I've been frustrated many times in a short period, but it has mostly turned out good. (I guess we'll see when I finally publish).
