Dragon pics!

Okay, well you asked, so here are a couple of pics. The first is my favourite of Shrek and Fiona - looks like an old victorian pose to me, with the lady grinning and the man all serious! The second is the eggs as we found them after Fi had buried them. 22 in all! Currently all doing well, but as they are their first batch I'm not hoping for much (especially as I built the incubator myself!)

The eggs are almost the size of quail eggs.

Those are really neat pics! Thanks for posting Trish ... Those eggs are a pretty good size, how big will they get? 22 of them, lol ... I think I even see a "Tea" Party pose in the Victorian Photo. Real cool - how long until birth?

The eggs will take about 60 - 70 days to hatch - maybe even longer! The babies will be 3 - 4 inches long when they are born. Looking like around the 16th November onwards. If it all goes well, will post some pics here of any that make it!

The adult dragons get anything up to about 30" long - Shrek is about 21" in length and about the same wide! (Not really, but he is VERY fat!) Fiona is a couple of inches shorter - they've still got a little bit of growing to do.

They really are fascinating creatures - Shrek head bobs to show he's dominant, but goes into a huff if I head bob back! (obviously can't take female supremacy! LOL). Fi arm waves to show submission, and gets quite disturbed if I head bob to her mate! (their vivarium is next to my computer so I spend long hours watching them!)

More than two months watching these eggs Trish, lol, is this the first batch for you?? Me tinks they are in love, lol ... yes keep us posted, will the eggs grow bigger too?

Hey Trish.......the pics are great, good info, kinda gives them a personality.......can't wait to see some babies, keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't know if the eggs grow - Michael's convinced they already have a bit! They have to be kept moist, unlike bird eggs, so perhaps they do.

These dragons do have personality - Shrek's expressions remind me of Mr Toad in Wind in the Willows. He can do a 'for god's sake woman why to you keep tapping on that keyboard' really well!

I love seeing the eggs, I'm all excited about the big day, keep us updated, and bring Shrek on again......that's cute

wouldn't that be something if all 22 eggs made it......

I know, well I think if all 22 of them made it, the leader would have to be called

"Tu-Tu" .... lol
