    Default Name that Egg!

Okay, so you asked for pics! Here are the eggs in the incubator - the smaller eggs to the right and bottom are the new ones laid yesterday, the others were laid 4 weeks ago, and if all goes well will be hatching sometime after the 15th November. You can clearly see the older eggs have increased in size!

Go on - name an egg! These are bearded dragons, and could be male or female, all males or all females! LOL

Or how about having a guess as to the first one to hatch!

This is so fun Trish ...

I am going for the First born, Female, and name "LadyEye" ... have to have someone named after me, hee hee and might just as well be a "Bearded Dragon" ... hmmmm ... lol - There she is!! I will guess she will weigh 10 ozs - lol - I have no idea how much they could possibly weight on birth ... but that's what I'll guess ... oh and please notice, she has come out "CleanShaven" - no beard, lol

Top, middle basket, third down on right, 2nd born male:

    "Draco"

From the Greek name Δρακων (Drakon) which meant "dragon, serpent". This was the name of a 7th-century BC Athenian legislator. This is also the name of a constellation in the northern sky.

You did it great! Eggs still doing well - no duffers so far! Could be hatching anytime from next week onwards (or maybe not for another few weeks!).

I'm spending £300 on new vivariums this weekend just to house the blighters!

Wow that's good news to hear Trish .. and yes it's getting close, I wonder if it will be a noisy event, lol ... you won't get any sleep once this all starts, one hatch a day could prove very tiresome for you, lol

Keep up the great "Mothering" ...

Aww, I remember when mine were still in the egg. I am guessing the 16th baby born will be second basket, 1st row, last egg and it will be female.

I would have never thought I would run into a fellow beardie lover on a site like this...

LOL! You never know who you're going to meet on here!

Having spent £300 on new vivariums and fittings for the little uns I'm starting to worry that something will go wrong. My son, Michael, thought he saw mould on one of the eggs today. I do hope not! Fingers crossed everyone!

Even if he did notice some mold, don't fret just yet. You may want to move some of the other eggs out, OR you could just sprinkle some athletes foot powder (light dusting) over the egg. That usually helps. But NEVER give up on an egg unless it goes black and deflates. Some of my worst looking eggs hatched out perfect babies! Is this your first time?

And thank you about the gallery. I love having these babies around. Its so fun watching them discover new things, and once one does it, everyone else in the tanks 'light bulb' goes off in their head and they do it too. Its just a blast! Lots of work and money though, lol.

Update, right. The egg with the mould has had to be thrown out - not quite sure which one it was, but I'm sure it wasn't one of the named ones! We've set up the new vivarium, but no sign of any hatching yet!

Fingers crossed everyone that we don't loose more!

Weather has turned very cold, so the temp in the incubator has been going down a bit a night (especially when our heating packed up last weekend - fixed now!) so I'm hoping that it will only slow things down, and won't harm the little blighters!

Could be anytime now - or another 4 weeks!

Don't worry - as soon as I have a pic it will be up on here!

Day 68 and still waiting! Just found out that though they can hatch from 60 days, they can take over 100!

I'll probably end up beating the record! LOL

Are the ones that are due to hatch still really plump? You know you are 2 days to 1 week away when the eggs start to deflate. Sometimes they dimple but mine have always just deflated. Kind of like a balloon with a slow leak. Mine typically hatch in about 58 days. Lower temps mean longer incubation times. What are your temps?

The temp is around 82 - 83 f, so I know it's around the lower end. The eggs are still nice and plump and no sign of deflating yet! Just getting fed up with all this waiting! LOL

Next time incubate at a slightly higher temps ( around 85*) and I bet that they hatch out by day 62.

    Keep us posted!

18 still - we had to give up on the last 3 eggs from this batch, but I'm quite happy with that number. Of course there still are 21 in the incubator ready to hatch in about 2 weeks time!

All thriving and looking good! So cute - they've started arm waving, which is a bit distracting when I'm trying to work LOL

errrrr - lizards don't have feathers actually. some education required here methinks!

Anyway, checked last night - Nogard's staying right where he is at present. Don't blame him - if I was in an egg I wouldn't want to hatch in this cold weather!

No Astral, Robyn I can't sit and hatch it with feathers on me bum, Nogard will get confused. I must have a bit of reptile in me though, as in my chat up, playboy days, the women where always calling me a snake and a lizard.

Anyway, checked last night - Nogard's staying right where he is at present. Don't blame him - if I was in an egg I wouldn't want to hatch in this cold weather!

Can't believe me little Nogards not showing his little head, maybe he hates Christmas just like his super-hero Daddy...Chip off the old block, see you on the 2nd of January son.

No, Nogard is waiting for all the Christmas fuss to die down and then, and only then is he coming out to meet his dad.

He will be a lounge lizard, of course. I have just finished his slippers so we can watch the football all warm and comfy.....

His food? Well no hunting for bugs or anything strenuous like that, nope already sorted that for him.....

    Noogggieee will want for nothing......

Hey everyone...I've been away for awhile, and just jumped on the forum. Congrats Trish! I would love to see some pictures of them now! If not to late to name one, I would like to name a female, Vibe.

P.S. I just had a litter of Golden Retriever puppies! Only 6 of those and it was a LOT of work. I have one left that is going to her new home next week!

Hey Holly! Do you like my new digs!! Oh and yea...that's hubby next to me. That pic was taken on our cruise in Sept. Not the greatest, but decided to spice up my avatar here! Trust me when I tell you, this pic was better than the one of me by the pool!!! lol Anyway, getting ready to take another cruise in Feb! 10 day to Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and DR, from Florida! Can't wait...me and a friend. Nope...not taking hubby on this one!

Hey Trish....can we see some pictures? Maybe I'll go look on your website...you may have them there!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
