Default Is it really that BAD?

    G20 meeting is going on.
DW-TV, Russia Today, Alzajeera, Bloomberg ... alot of news about financial crisis ... about people lost their houses, batering things for food, flea market and garage sales is everywhere, people eat less and even dig out food from trash.
Is the situation there really that bad or the TV just like to report Bad news as they are more "catchy" ?

I'm in Texas and it doesn't seem that bad down here. There are people who have lost their jobs and the worth of houses has dropped but there are still places to get jobs if you actually want to work!!!

People are turning to bartering, foraging and trash salvaging.

Some people are finding a way to get food for free - from the trash.
Nichel Berea, a broke 21-year-old senior at Baruch College in New York, recently decided to give it a try after reading about "freegans," the anti-consumerists who boycott the economy by dumpster-diving for food.
The trend has existed for years, but as the economy has deteriorated some say they've found greater acceptance.

    Salam Blue,

My sister-in-law lives in San Diego. When her husband retired from Rank Xerox some of the retirement benefits are required or strongly recommended by Xerox to invested in sound blue chip stocks.

Today she is so worried as the stocks had lost more than 50% of it's value.

Unless we get the economy kick started again, we have got far worse to come. The trouble is! That its the ones that are going to kick start the economy again are the ones that have already had the cream of the top of the milk. Unfortunately! its these same people that will be kick starting it again. (Bunch of useless bankers)

You have to remember that the news agencies are looking for stuff like that and they make it out to be worse than it really is most of the time to sell copy, and programs. Your'e right Chris, half of the people that caused this mess are now in the cabinet and leadership positions of this country, and that is who is supposed to kick start the economy again????? I am with you I think we are in for some worse times untill the majority of the people get tired of the down hill and want something else!!

If there really are people out there that are starving, taking food from trash cans.... Let's feed them with scum rioters that think its cool to act like an a s s h o l e and smash up a city even though their tiny brain cells don't even know what the hell is going on? They are there just for causing trouble.

Feed them to the starving! In fact feed ALL the demonstrators to the starving. Time wasters
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

Things are really bad in florida, people line up for a chance of a job..1,000's for just a few jobs. 1,000's of homes in foreclosure as well. People are buying food, not much needed meds.

Well I suppose that's life. But unless Mother Earth is apt to collide with another celestial body, as we see in the movies this is a better consolation than the worse. So I presume every breath we take alone is enough to thank our Creator. Considering the great mass of ice in the antarctic has broken and melted, the hole in the ozone layer is expanding and it's not the human population alone that has gone awry but Mother Nature herself.

Well cyberspace seems to keep time at a standstill. Especially when you have a friend caricaturist alongside. Cheers, Sasha, fast1...everybody.
