Thread: Resubmitting to VodaSearch

I think I read somewhere that if we made changes on our website that we could reflect those changes by updating our vodasearch account. How does one do that. I only see how to submit a new site, but not how to update an existing registered site. Thanks for any help

Unsure what you mean McBuff.

When you publish your pages it automatically updates the older version of the page. You can re-submit it to search engines but you will find that the search engines bots will find your pages eventually without having to re-submit them. You can go into your Control Panel and look at Awstats to see how regular the SE Bots visit your site.

I was refering specifically to "VodaSearch" which you can submit to and either set up a free account or pay something like 47 dollars for a upgrade. It is supposed to, somehow, increase your traffic by submitting your address to all the search engines or something like that.

When you sign up for an free account, you place a link "website builder" on your index page. I read somewhere that if you make changes with content on your site you can update that in your account. For example, when you sign up you are asked to select a catagory that best fits with the products or services that you are offering. I need to change my catagory because I'm offering a very different line of products. I need to change the description of my site and so forth.

I can't figure out how to get into my account. ..I only see a way to submit a new account. I tried to submit my site as a new account but it rejected it because "I already have an account with VodaSearch". . . .I'm stuck. I've had the question up for 24 hours and you are the only one who took a stab at it. Maybe I'm not understanding something. .or I'm misstating something.

It may help to submit a support ticket to Vodahost. I havn't had much to do with Vodasearch.

What "free account" are you thinking of? Joining VodaGold and placing a banner on your website has never entitled anyone to a "free account" nor is anything like it offered to potential clients who use your affiliate link to explore VodaHost!

Secondly, changing your "affiliate profile" does not constitute a pre-requisite for submitting your website to Search utilities: although it is a good practice to maintain dynamic Content and elements on your website, the regular cache function of the bots and SE's themselves perform the task naturally, which is always preferred.

VodaHits is the subscriber submission service available from VodaHost, and is a bargain for the service it provides, but it is not simply a push-a-button type of service: you should actively participate in the continual development of the site, and learn to effectively make the changes to content and formatting that will benefit you in the long-run. Monthly sessions are the strength of VodaHits, and frankly, I am not sure if the program has been changed yet or is still the way it was 6 months ago (it has undergone a re-design ~even the pricing~ and is currently in BETA), but you sound like you are confusing your VodaGold and VodaHits programs and the details of each.

The Basics:
Each Voda-Hosted website is allowed one free submission to the internet, by request via Support Ticket.
VodaHits regularly submits enrolled websites and provides foundational reccommendations to effect website evolution (worthiness) for SE cache and position influence.
VodaGold is the affiliate program at VodaHost that pays commissions for co-marketing VodaHost products and services, and offers a variety of prepared methods to use in those efforts.

I'm referring to "Vodasearch". . .its a question about Vodasearch. . .I'm not talking about a free account with Vodagold or Vodahits or Voda. ..whatever.. ..but confused. . .oh, yes I am confused no question about it. . .you know. . .I know the celestials find it daunting to have to suffer the newbies and our total lack of knowledge. ..try to find hope in the fact that whereas we may be insufferable dolts, we are only insufferable dolts with all things related to the web. And thats just a link directory. The only updating to be done there is if you add a site, or want to change the directory your site appears in, or change the "advert" for you link that appears there.

If you had changes to your site, it really wouldnt make any difference to your directory listing unless you totally changed the content of your site or removed a site.. etc etc, or changed the place you linked back to the link directory in exchange for the FREE listing!

Hope this helps with the confusion. I think the terms just got mixed up between the different services available.

That's exactly what I want to do. I want to "update" my directory and advert. . .my site content and products have change. I still don't see how to do that. I only see how to "submit" a new address, which I cannot do because my address has not changed.

How do I update my free account in those two areas. . .I see no way on earth to do it. But, thank you, for actually understanding what my question is in regards to. I just don't see anywhere at that Vodasearch site where I can make those changes.

I cant either and the thread pertaining to it doesnt offer any assitance either. Id put in a support ticket, attention Brad as he seems to be the one heading up this project, and ask him how to best proceed to update or fix your link.
