Thread: What are your views, please?

What are people's views about other sites using your guestbook as a way to advertise their unrelated site?

I must admit I am fed up to the back teeth by the number of emails I get trying to sell me a fake watch, so may be biased, but I was none too pleased when one of these folks left a message on my guestbook telling me how wonderful my site was, and inviting my visitors to take a look at theirs!

How do others deal with this? Do you remove the entry, or leave it as it compliments your site?

These are just people spamming your guest book, I would delete them. This
is a very common and sleazy practice.

I agree with *****. This sort of practice is horse****! I can't stand these air heads who spam, spam, and more spam. I would delete them all!!! pet121

P.S In fact this sort of practice can harm your site.

I agree with ***** and Peter - I'd delete it. The reason they start by complimenting your site is so you'll think twice before removing their post(s).

Thanks all - obviously I'm gullible as the ploy nearly worked with me. I have now deleted the entries - compliments and all!
