Thread: Does SEO apply to social websites?

I have a question here. search engine optimization is about changing your meta elements, right? But if a person has a social networking website, does she need to do any SEO? Or should I ask, does SEO apply to Social websites?

It depends on whether you want people to find your site based on search terms or not. If you have all the people visiting your site that you want, then it is not necessary. If you want people to find you, then, yes it will help...but marketing and linking are what will get you more traffic than just keywords for the search engines. Hope that helps!
