Thread: What is SEO?

Hello everyone,

Can somebody please explain what SEO is, in very simple terms? Thank you.

Appreciate if you can link me to some good resources as you guys always do.

I will have a go, SEO _ search engine optimisation is----

creating a web page/digital service in line with the search engines requirements. i.e in terms of a web page, create the page with all elements that google (for me) require to recognize my site as valid to their users, that way, my google shows my web site to those visitors who type in keywords that (i want).

Use the search function on this forum, type in SEO and you will come up with alot of relevant info.

having been through the learning curve (and still going) i suggest that you follow the basics in Bethers post, it does work and gives a great foundation for future growth.

SEO is the technique employed by web site owners to make their web site more search engine friendly. When a site is optimized for the search engines properly it will receive traffic from the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and others at no additional cost per visitor.
