Default What am I doing wrong?

    Hello to Voda World!

I set up my site at www.watchhunter.ca a few months back. Initially, I thought that my site would be spidered by now, but still nothing. I recently submitted to Google, Yahoo and MSN. For Google, I uploaded a text sitemap.

So, the question is, what am I doing wrong that nothing is coming up for my site in any of the search engines.

Can you please take a look and see if there is some critical flaw in my page design or is this an issue with Voda's page builder etc.

Any help would be a appreciated. I am getting ready to throw in the towel!

    Thank you!

I found your site in all three major search engines when I typed in watchhunter, to get it find it otherwise I would look into your meta tags, titles, etc. Search Beethers, she has many posts on this aswell as links in her signature on SEO optimization.

Just type in watchhunter in the search, nothing else, no spaces and it will come up.

Yes, I did that. The results are for a .com site, not my .ca site.

I don't know, but I am just not seeing it. When I check Google's Webmaster tools, its shows no pages were indexed.

I read something about BV submitting my site if I request it. Since I have already submitted the site to the search engines, should I ask BV to submit or would this cause duplication and hurt my chances with the search engines?

    Personally I would say no.

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

    Hi watchhunter

You could probably try improving your metatags and keywords, that way you will make your website more robot friendly and easier to index by the search engines.

You can do this for free on the below website. Just click on the Meta Tag Analyzer on the left, enter your url and click submit. It will tell you how relevant your keywords, metatags, etc are. You can them tweak and improve them until all of the stats come up as excellent or 100%.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for your input and feedback. I will work on my meta tags.

One more question: I have hundreds of product pages that come up as a pop up from one of the main for sale or sold items pages. I noticed that the analyzer software did not pick up on any of them.

Is it because they are pop up pages? I thought my having each watch on its own page with descriptive URL and meta data that it would serve as internal links and help search results.

    True?

There are many factors that are involved, especally in your case where you are in such a common field (many, many other sites of your type). I am not a guru in this area, as I suggested earlier I would look up Beethers ( type her name in the search above) and read what she has to offer this is her area.

Yes, this is true. Many watch sites out there.

Once I figure this out, I will be building out more specialized watch sites that focus on certain types as an example. Each site would be independent but linked together.

    That's the strategy anyway...
