    Default Google search

I was looking at the crawler errors on the google page and it said it could not find my page: www.familyfunrving.com/function.filesize 404(not found). What I don't understand is my page is www.familyfunrving.com. What is the /function.filesize? Is there something I didn't do ? My page is no more than a simple family page for friends and family and anyone else interested.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Steve C.

It looks like a bot or a crawler tried to find that page on your site .. sometimes they do this to make sure your site is returning the correct headers.

Why would the crawler look at a page thats not the right address? Do I have a page with function/filesize in the address that I am not aware of? The page has been published for 5 days and cannot be found anywhere on a google search. I did the BlueVoda crawler then published the sitemap then was verified on the google page. Am I missing something?

    Thanks,

No.. but i told you why.... to make sure your site is responding with the correct http headers and not being redirected or fooled into a redirection. Its not a big deal.. I could type anything in and get a page not found off your site that will show in your stats. DONT WORRY ABOUT IT...

I read on one of these forums that if you type in your web address into the google search engine that it should show up in the results if it has been crawled by google. That seems like a good theory. Is this not true?

    Thanks,

    Steve C.

Well if the WHOLE Site has only been up 5 days.. its too new.. it might be tomorrow it might be 6 months.. you cant force them to index you.

The reason I think something was wrong was because before this current site I had made another site (since deleted) and it was indexed in about 2 days. Thanks for your help.

No, and it is not even a good theory, since it assumes Search Queries have any impact on the utility (Google Search Engine) at all -- they don't!

This suggested "method" is merely perpetuated nonsense. See this post also.
