Thread: Will a second domain name help rankings..

My website is called www.ctrivercandles.com and I make only soy candles. I was thinking about purchasing another domain name www.ctriversoycandles.com and having it redirect to my main site. Is this possible and if so, would it give me a positive or negative effect on search engine results since many customers search for the term "soy candles" and I'm pretty far down on the list even though I've worked on "soy candle" content.

not unless you blogged on it. SE are getting pretty picky about this redirects just because. Different opionions might say differently..but i think youd be way smarter to blog or build an INFO site on that domain rather than just point the blank domain to it.

Thanks Karen...appreciate the quick reply. I really don't have time to blog and have an info site would mean more hosting fees so maybe I'll just hold on the idea for now....

No if you are with vodahost it wont be anymore hosting fees.. just the domain fee you was gonna purchase anyway.
