Default Moving my domain to vodahost

Below is the extract from my current hosts. Could you please tell me the implications of the first paragraph

This article describes how to move your domain from to another registrar. Moving your domain in this way does not change where it is hosted. It only affects which organisation is used to make your domain known to the Internet.
If you want to move the hosting of your domain to another provider, but want to continue using as your registrar, you will need to use your Control Panel to modify the Name Servers settings. See 'Changing Where your Domain is Hosted' for more information.

Also I have paid them for a full year of hosting, till March 2007. In your opinion are they supposed to refund me the difference?

    Hey!

Usually when you pay for a whole year you are waisting money. You are better off paying a setup fee to pay monthly so you can cancel anytime.

Usually when you pay for a whole year you can't get a refund.
    Best regards,

Ok.. I'll give it a shot.. but don't expect miracles since I'm a lousy educator.

Domain Name and Hosting Account are 2 different things.

A Domain Registrar is the establishment that is responsible for registering and keeping a record of your domain name.

A webhost is the establishment that have your website hosted, published and so on.

If it happens that your domain registrar and webhost are the same, you should be free your domain name to another registrar, or, move your webhosting account to another webhost, or both.

Your domain name is your business name, and your server is like the premises you operate from.. so, your domain name must point at that address which is referred to as 'Name Server'. Changing the name server will make the name point at that new server, but will not change who the registrar is.

Obviously, Terms of service may vary from one provider to another, but generally, once you've signed up on an account, it is very rare that a refund will be paid on the remaining hosting plan period.

    And that's it.

I can't believe I typed all that without confusing myself..

    1) All it says is that you can update your nameservers with them and
your domain name will work with another hosting company without you
having to transfer it. (This is a good thing)

    2) We can not comment on the financial policies of other web hosts that
we do not have a relationship with.

Right, let me see if I understand what is going on. I dont want to stay with these guys because they do not have website builders like yourselves. Which is the main reason why I want to move.

Now it seems that if i move to you guys, I will loose my sixty pounds. So how can i still stay with them and get to use all your cool stuff? If i am not mistaken it is by changing the name server setting isnt it?

    Exactly....

    1) Sign up for our hosting.
    2) In your welcome letter we will let you know which name servers to use.
    3) Change them at the other place.

    and everything will work fine.

Now that I have changed the name servers at my host company, do I just go ahead and start using the web builders? Am I supposed to be looking out for anything from either vodahost or from my host company? Does it take some time to register?

You must create a VodaHost web hosting account. Have you done this? If
not click the banner on the top right of this page.
