Thread: Appropriate for a classified listing web site?

How appropriate is Vodahost for a classified listings web site requiring databases for registered users, automatic ad placements, photo uploads, auto response to ad listers, auto expiration of ads, listing of several ad categories but payment fees for perhaps one category only? Have looked at several other programs that offer this but were beyond my skill level.

Also - have 2 domains "parked" at a domain registrar. Must a transfer be made to use on Vodahost or simply permission from the registrar to use on your site?

2. Just point your nameservers on the VH account that you will be purchasing. Transfer is also possible (not for all domain extensions), it's up to you.

Do you mean PHP, MySQL and MyPHP Admin?

Yes, i mean minimum php and MySQL version required by the script, features enabled in Apache etc. When you find your script, post here the tech specs and ask if that's ok.

My software requires Operating Syst- Unix/Linux/Windows.
Scripting language - PHP 4.3 or later
Thumbnail/Image processing - GD Library 2.0 or later
Database - MySQL only
Database administration - PHP MyAdmin or equiv.
