Thread: buy domain, but not host it yet?

Hello all. I already have an account that i set up for my SIL.. it is doing very well. I want to create a separate website for myself. I'm not quite ready to get it going though, and am afraid, that since I finally decided on a name, if I don't buy ti now, it will be gone when I'm ready.

Is is possible to buy the domain, and not have it hosted yet? it seems like a waste of $$ to pay hosting for something that will not be used for a few months.
How do I do that?

Yes, you can buy the domain - from VH or from any domain service like GoDaddy. When you're ready to use it - you'll just point the nameservers to your account.

Would you mind very much telling me where I can just buy the domain from BV. When I go through order now, I see hosting is included.. unless I'm missing something.
