Thread: Current vs new website issue

HI, my website www.spanda.com is currently running on another server. I am unhappy with both the site and the server. I want to build a new site, integrate it with the OsCommerce shopping cart and have it hosted by VodaHost. I want to keep www.spanda.com on the web until the new site is built so can I build the new site using my own HTML code on Vodahost as www.spanda.com without publishing it until it is ready to go and when it is done cancel my account with my server and transfer the domain name to Vodahost as well as making VodaHost my new server? let me know the best way to acomplish this...thanks, michael

Happy New year

1) Create a VodaHost Account
2) backup your site from your old company
3) Upload your site to VodaHost
4) Change your name servers at your current registrar or transfer your
domain to Vodahost.
5) Cancel your old hosting account

Thank you for your quick reply but i really dont want to go through the hassle of transferring my current website to vodahost, i'd much rather just cancel it when the new site is ready . I got this reply from Sarah at the help desk

You simply create an account with VodaHost
and when you have made the site to your specifications, you point the name servers of your domain name to us. Then you can cancel your old account.

Sarah:) can i do what she says? create the new site and point the name servers of my domain name to vodahost once I am done and then cancel my old account?

Both ways work....its up to you, its your site....
