I am considering a Vodahost account. My existing domain ends in .ws. Can i direct my existing domain toward the Vodahost server?

You can change your nameservers for any domain to point to vodahost and use it, its just certain domains that you can't transfer so that vodahost is the registrar (basically all the country specific domains can't be transfered), but any can be used
