Thread: Need help transferring over

I have built a complete site on BlueVoda but have a domain through another company. Can you please walk me through how to switch everything over?

one more thing, i can tell i'm not going to be good at all this transferring stuff. i have hostmonster now and i like them, but i built my site using bluevoda (hostmonster's web building tool isn't good). what's the easiest thing to do and the cheapest thing to do? please help someone. i'm so lost!!

Hi April .. so glad you have a sense of humor .. me too!!

Okay, well the first thing is you want to open up your voda hosting account. That you need to continue using blue voda, it only publishes to a voda hosting account ..

So when you go through the order process, use your domain name that you already have, this will open your voda hosting account with your domain name, that's what you want ..

Once you receive confirmation of your voda hosting account, put in a support request for a domain transfer ..

let's do this first .order up your hosting account and then we can go from there once you have your log in information ...

thanks so much for helping me. this doesn't sound too bad. just one question, is the $$ i paid to my other domain hosting place is just gone? is that how it works?

You will still have the hosting, your domain just won't be using it. (Make sure you cancel it so it isn't renewed when the subscription expires). You could technically still use it using the ip address
