Default How Do I Set Up An Account for Someone Else?

I am already a customer of Voda Host and love it! I just made a deal with someone to build a website for them and than I want to turn over control of it all to them. Of course I want to use Voda Host and Blue Voda to do this. I do have some questions though.

    1. I know that signing up with Voda Host gives you a free domain name, however I am finding it would be cheaper for my client in the long run to register his domain name with someone such as Go ***** for renewals etc. Can I register his free domain name for a year and than can he than transfer the name to Go ***** before the year is up?

    2. How do I get him to sign up for Voda Host? I assume it would have to be all done under his name for renewals etc? Would a good idea be to get him to do the signup using my affiliate link so I get credit for it and than get him to send me the login info for the cpanel that he gets so I can set up his emails etc for him?

I am planning on designing the site and getting it up for him, than send him the page files by email so he can maintain it. All I am responsible for is the actual building of the site.

So which is the best way to go about this? Get him to sign up himself and do the rest for him?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Save time and trouble and just get the domain from your other source. If it is cheaper to get your domain elsewhere then what you lose on not taking the free domain you will gain over time from the other place no? You then just have the domain repointed to the VH servers.

Yes, good idea... and perfectly acceptable to tell him to sign up through your affiliate link.

You are only responsible for whatever you agree between you and your client. If he asks you, or pays you to build it then make sure you are extremely clear on what you will and wont do before you start.

So which is the best way to go about this? Get him to sign up himself and do the rest for him?

If that's the way you feel you want to go then yes, why not.

Thanks for the help in advance!
    Hope that helps.

    Ramsey,

Thanks for the laser like reply! *LOL*

It did help and I will be in touch with him soon to get it all in motion! I will make sure he uses my link too, might as well make some more money off of this too! :)

hmm unless i'm missing something, you can setup a site for someone else entirely by ftp access.
