Suitable for overseas

HI, I am in Australia and was wondering if this website builder and host are suitable for outside the US.
Can you select which currency you work in ?

No Worries Mate...We have over 3000 customers in Australia/Asia, that we service without any issues.

Is latency an issue with overseas hosting? I presume you would want hosting in the same country as the majority of your customer base as that would be the quickest ping time. Or does it really not make any difference? :)
