HI there!

I absolutely love the look of this service, especially bluevoda.
i just have a few things that i need to have cleared up before i sign up, and i sure these have been asked before but please forgive me.

1: Im from South Africa and i have a .co.za domain name that i would like to have hosted, can this be done and how?

2: Can i begin to design my website before the domain name has been hosted?

3: Once my domain is hosted by vodahost, am i still the owner of that domain?

4: Can the $7.95 per month fee increase at anytime or is that a set amount. (this is nb to me as im from SA)

5: If i only purchased my domain name today, do i have to wait 60 days before it can be hosted? If so, can i request the transfer now in order to speed up the process once the 60 days is up?

I think the answers to those questions will help alot. I am once again sorry if these questions have been asked and asnwered before. I am new to the website game and i need to clear things up in my head before i swipe the credit card.

1) We do not sell .co.za domains, they are controlled and regulated by Mbeki &
friends, they have a monopoly. But you can buy one from them and point it to

I am however slightly confused about your answer to question 5, i did read somewhere that there was a 60 day period after purchase of the domain before they can be hosted by vodahost?

By the way i have already purchased my domain through a site called sadomain.co.za.

The 60 day rule only applies to transfers, you can not transfer
a .co.za domains out of S.A.

So what is the difference between a transfer and pointing the domain to vodahost?

I have a feeling that these question will probably be answered once i have signed up....

Transfering is giving custodial control. Changing name servers is leaving it
at its current custoduan and just telling it to work with VodaHost....If you
do not really need a .co.za domain.... We provide the below range for free.....

Are there advantages to giving full administraive and custodial control?

Would I be limited in anyway if i decided to keep my .co.za domain name and choose to point it to vodahost?

You can not transfer a .co.za domain to VodaHost anyway. You will administer it from your S.A. company. The domain name and web hosting are two entirely different things. You can only point it to VodaHost. You will have full control over it.

Totally new to this web design and hosting game...
I have tried to find answers to my first few questions and this thread is the closest I came, but I still need some clarification pls...

I have registered a .co.za domain with an ISP here in SA. The name I need is not available on .com. Can I go ahead and design a website with Vodahost and have it hosted with you too? My understanding is that I need to tell my ISP to point my domain name to your servers, is this rite?

So I will pay you for the monthly hosting and renew my domain with my ISP every year??
