Thread: Quick Q re Linking and ALT text

Hi all, just a quick question re linking.

How can I advertise someones site using text but instead of displaying their URL it will be advertised in the link which when clicked then proceeds to their webpage?

Like this as an example: http://startingwithadollar.com/ (look at his link at the bottom of the page)

I can add text link at the moment but cant see how to do it like above

type in whatever it is you want to link and highlight it and then click on the hyperlink button on the top of the screen(it looks like the world)

Hey Robo thanks for that but doing that option doesn't give me the chance to add ALT text?

Is there a way you can add ALt text to a text link? I seem t be abl to do so when I upload a picture but it doesn't giove you an ALT text option when you link text?

No, actually there is no AltText for the text Links. But you can trick it: write your text, then cover it with a rectangle. Give the rectangle colour Fuchsia (which will result in transparent) and link THE RECTANGLE to the desired URL. You can provide Alternate text for the rectangle. The result will be as if the text was linked and had Alt Text
