    Default Publish Locally

I plan building a fairly simple site with probably a dozen pages. Is there a way to publish locally (my hard drive) to make sure that the page linking works properly before I publish to the domain servers?

The reason I ask is that I currently have a website that was created on my computer using notepad as the editor, and once satisfied with it, I uploaded to the servers using an ftp program.

No, there is no way you can do that. BV converts the pages in html only at the moment of publishing. And the links can only work if they are existing URLs. In preview, the links are disabled.
