Hello, I know this has been mentioned many times - I think I have even said it once before - I am starting to use BlueVoda more and more now for my website and require to open many pages at once. It would be a great new feature to be able to open multiple files at once.

Do you mean using a "select all" feature Jeremy, or do you just mean being able to have more than one page open at once? You can have more than one page open at once just by having a page open, go to file open another and so on ...

No, he means being able to open more than one pages (using the Ctrl key) or simply selecting with the mouse. I find it also most usefull, as i often need to open 6 - 10 pages of the same client, to edit.

What George said ^.^ .. I think that this should be one of the next new features on the next version of BlueVoda.

That is really wishful thinking. BV already allows you to open multiple files only that you require to select back and forth to edit the pages. How large is your monitor display or LCD screen anyway? You cant expect to open a few pages all at once when your screen has its size limitation to view all! Abu |

Abu, we are talking about being able to open the pages all together, without having to repeat the procedure 3 - 5 - 8 or more times.

Hear hear! I think this would be a very desirable feature, too!

haha...?? redundancy upon redundancy Let's see how proficient we can be with what we have before we dream up purely convenience items that will not increase productivity to any measurable degree! |

| Actually EV, when one has many pages to make changes to, this addition would increase productivity manyfold. It would also help me personally, to feel more organised. I could open all the relevant pages, make the change, save, close, and have the next one waiting ... and so forth.

| I don't want to. Space is a premium in my home and I don't have the wherewithal to purchase asecond monitor. I also like to work with the full screen. This is a thread for wishes and we do not have to justify our wishes to you, EV. :oP

hi Jeremy, I used to open several pages at one time to do my amendment without much problem. one feature I do feel shortcoming is I need to publish one page by one page. whereas the other site builder i used long before i get to know bluevoda can publish a few pages at one click. however, it does not matter anyway, if you need to do 2 pages concurrently, you can also open up 2 times blue voda. so you can amend or copy from one page to another page and view 2 different pages at the same time. anyother way I did was to have 2 note books in front of me. I still can surf net and do other things while the other one is publishing ... slowly ... best regards, fox |

| It is not about the monitor Eric. Let me present you a real case (mine): I have my BV folder. In it, i have some 80 subfolders (each one for a client). Then, in each subfolder, i might have further folders, as i usually like to have the pages grouped by category (pages that go in the clients public_html go in the folder itself, pages that go in subfolders on the clients site, are also saved in similarly named subfolders inside the main folder of the client). So it is very often for me to have 3 folder levels (BV folder, client folder, client subfolders) . To scroll among 80 folders and relevant subfolders, just to open one page at a time, is quite time consuming. Please note that this is a standard feature of most windows applications and i would like to see it in BV. The same goes for the save / publish feature. Look at Last Save / Publish Location which would be (in my opinion) a very useful feature.

This sounds like an excellent feature! Perhaps it would be something like a "Project Manager" feature... For example: File>New>New Project then a dialog box pops up...you type in Project name then you can either add the pages you want to the project and have an option to open all pages the next time you begin working on the project or just hit OK...and add pages as you go alongWhen creating a new page or opening an already created page: A dialog box could pop up asking if you would like to add the page to the current project (default yes/no cleared to prevent accidently adding a page) Open whichever pages you want, and when you close a page.. ...Another way could have a "remember" feature, almost like the "Most Recent Documents" feature in Windows, where BV remembers the pages you had open during the last time you were using it and asks if you would like to "continue" the next time you start up BlueVoda. Sounds nice...any thoughts? |
