Thread: Unable to upload a theme

Hi

I am trying to upload a new theme on wordpress without any luck.

I have the theme file on the left on ftp and I have the wp-content-themes file on the right hand side but there is no 'upload' facility to transfer the theme from the left to the net on the right. Does this make sense?

Where am I going wrong?

It's the one area I'm struggling with.

Hi Jacque!
Ive just uploaded a new version on wordpress.
tools
FTP
connect
wp-content-themes file
go to your file on your right.."cityscape-20"
highlight
click move to
tick subdirectories
tick 'ok'
It should then transfer over to your FTP...
always remember to look at the files and make sure that ALL files have uploaded.

I am using Blueftp v.1.2 which is on the BlueVoda software I downloaded in June.

Kassi, I will try your suggestion, have been tryring to do this for a couple of weeks now on and off and have been stumped even although I have watched the tutorials many times.

I am using Blueftp v1.2 which is the ftp manager on Blue Voda that I downloaded in June.

It worked! I have loaded my chosen template successfully, many thanks Kassi. Actually still had trouble so just deleted and started again.

Only trouble now is when I 'view site' to see template and new post I wrote, I get a 404 page directing me to my website - where have I gone wrong in this?

I know I'll get there eventually, as I said it's the only area where I've so far struggled, which isn't bad for a novice 50 yr old!!!

Go have a look in your blueftp and make sure that all files did in fact upload...its tedious, you must go thru all file folders.
