Is Wordpress a stand alone blog program or is it tied to a particular web site? I use another blog program with data unrelated to my sites.

Aloha Bill, it is a stand alone program. It is very popular and is very element rich. I am having problems with the simpliest of things but that's just me. I hear nothing but good things about that's why I want to preservere.

What happened to the tutorial for installing wordpress using fantastico? I am sure I watched it previously.

You don't need a tutorial, just follow the steps.

Okay, so I am not a brilliant programmer. What's the next step? I used the Fantastico installer. How do I proceed from here?

Then you log into your Wordpress blog and set everything to your liking. Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin and log in using the details you entered when you installed the blog.
