Thread: Connection Information Needed

Just recently when I try to add a plugin to wordpress, I get a message that asks me to input Connection Information:

ftp host

ftp username

ftp password

I'm not sure what these are.

If my domain was http://name.com
and my blog url http://name.com/myblog

What would my ftp host name be?

Quite often localhost

FTP username and password are your main account username and password,. Of course, you can create additional additional FT users (username / password), give the new user permissions to desired folder( s ) (see your plugin details) and use those.

FTP host: usually: domain.com/foldername , at least if your plugin connects using the normal FTP procesures.
