radio....script?

I am trying to create an online radio but i don't know how it works.
Is it a script that makes the complete thing?
Or is any special equipment required?
I'm very confused, so if anyone knows PLEASE share your knowledge with me.

Now i want to ask something to vodahost staff.Let's say i know how to make it,are your servers supporting this?
