  • Grrrrr at the frustration

My POP3 settings don't seem to work. I have set them all up correctly according to my 'welcome email' and I have set up the authentication and dammmmmmmmit LOL this problem never happens on my other account hahaha

    ok... calm down Rob.... :D

    Any suggestions anybody?

The test feature in Outlook 2003 works fine for the most part. It finds all the servers but then prompts for my username and password when trying to access. the username and password are correct.

Here is the really frustrating part.....

I can send and receive emails no problem. But it still errors and asks me for my username and password everytime Outlook checks for new mail.

    Hey!

Are you having trouble setting up your email accounts? Please follow the
    below steps to the letter.

    1) Make sure you have a VodaHost web hosting account.

    2) Watch the below email tutorials.

If you say you have already watched them. Please watch them again!

    3) Make sure you have created your email account in your control panel.
This is a very important step that most people forget. Click the below to
    learn how to do this..

    http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/ema...rol-panel.html

    4) Remember your POP & SMTP setings are always mail.YourDomain.com

    5)
Your username is always the email address that you created in your control panel.... ie John@smithshoes.com

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets assume your name is John Smith and your domain name is smithshoes.com

    For Outlook

    1. In Outlook goto tools > Email Accounts
    2. Select add a new account (next)
    3. Select POP3
    4. Your Name: John Smith
    5. Email address: John@smithshoes.com
    6. Username: John@smithshoes.com
    7. Password (the one you made when you created the email account)
    8. Incoming POP3: mail.smithshoes.com
    9. Outgoing SMTP: mail.smithshoes.com
    10. Leave the log in using secure server tab empty

    For Outlook Express

    1. Open up outlook express.
    2. Tools > Accounts > Add > Mail.
    3. Display Name: John Smith
    4. Email Address: John@smithshoes.com
    5. My Incoming server is: POP3
    6. Incoming mail: mail.smithshoes.com
    7. Outgoing mail: mail.smithshoes.com

        Re: Grrrrr at the frustration

Rob...I seem to be having some of the same problems.
I'm constantly asked for my name and password even though in the acconts privacy setting it is ticked to remember.
I wondered if it is something to do with my AVG as a super quick popup appears at the bottom of my screen.
It's too quick even for me to click on....in fact I spent an afternoon laying in wait with my mouse hovering....ready to click.

          Re: Grrrrr at the frustration

It might be sometehing to do with AVG Bally but I don't use that so I am guessing (for you) that it might easily be something else too. It does dsound like we're in the same boat though :)

Are you successfully sending and receiving email too? Hahaha thats the most annoying part. I wish it would just either work or not work. That would be bearable.

Try sending me a test mail and I will attempt to reply? lets see how it goes. Then I will send you one which you can reply too?
