Problem:Trying to print page as PDF

I was playing around and wanted to see what a page would like if it was printed as a PDF file.When I tried this an enlarged,pixelated view of the navigation bar appeared right across the page obliterating images and text that happened to be in the way.I tried this with different pages and each time the ssame thing occurred ??
I then went back and deleted the navigation bar and printed the page and guess what,the offending enlarged,pixelated image was gone.
I this some Voda Host programming to inhibit people from trying this before publishing their site ? Or is there something amiss ?

Please understand..website building software is designed to build websites NOT
print pages. If you want to make your web page printer friendly please design it that
way from the beggining.

1) Align your text left
2) Use a white background
3) Do not use any graphics..
4) etc....
