Screen resolution

We are having massive problems trying to fit the name of my site with an advert to the right of it.
On my step fathers computer who is building the site everything seems fine but on my computer it looks a total mess.
Almost everything he programmes into the site via his computer appears so much bigger on my computer.
Thankfully we haven't started advertising the site yet as this is all new ground for us.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Diffrent websites look diffrent on diffrent computers due to many factors. But, the
primary factor that will effect what your website looks like on another machine is
the resolution that it was built for. Design your website to look good in 600 X 800
and everything will be ok.
