  • inline styles - affecting SEO?

I ran a something claiming to be an SEO Analyzer on my site. (it was free, so I thought I'd try it)

The results said that on the whole my site was quite well set up for SEO and many of the points in made were logical.

The only negative feedback I got was the following

QUOTE: ''Your web page appears to be using inline styles (which may include header styles). To reduce your page size, and to adhere to modern web design standards, all styles should be separated from the web page. Styles should be defined in a CSS document that reference the elements, IDs, and classes in the XHTML document.''

I don't fully understand what it is saying is wrong or what it is suggesting I do.

The site the report is referring to is http://www.myworldsouthamerica.com/

Any suggestions about what I can do, and the relevence of this would be great, thanks.

Re: inline styles - affecting SEO?

In-line Frames (iFrames) typically cannot be indexed or ranked by SE's with regard to Content or unified Key Word relavence.

Your Menu words/items, superimposed text over pictures, etc., all are not dynamic to the Page (since they are actually "published" on a different page), and therefore do not contribute to added metrics. There has been quite a bit of disagreement about the use of iFrames for this reason, always split down the middle with the issue of convenience (making changes globally with one element rather than *******ting singly on each page) vs. 100% SEO metrics (with every page element contributing).

Since BV uses CSS and HTML both, the statement you came across is not actually a "critique" of your site as much as it is a general statement: BV created pages are totally compliant with the construct models you both need for optimal SEO and within the recognizable parameters of SE functionality. You should ecpect to see more of this shift of online construct rationale, as the entire "Perfect Page" model and predominant use of CSS rises to the top of G4 internet operational standards (that's a huge discussion of it's own!).

Bottom Line: Don't worry.....just keep a regular routine to monitor your BV page integrity and regular rotation of KeyWord/Content to maintain your dynamic ranking status!
