  • Inserting html coding into BV

    Hi all,

my site is flabfallsoff.com - health, diet and weightloss, and hosted by Voda :-

I used Aweber to create a Hover Window to harvest email addresses (Aweber are gr8, BTW) - now the only step left is to insert some short html code into my site itself so the hover popup displays when ppl go to the site.

HOWEVER, how do I add html coding into my site?? I saw in the tutorials that you can add html, but that is for banners etc, that physically appear on the page. I'm talking about adding a bit of code to the Notepad or whatever is used, so the code invisibly does its work :-

This is the 2nd time I've been stumped on this: the 1st time was when Google wanted to verify I was the owner of my site, and asked me to insert some code. I tried to go to my site on the net itself, went to View Source, and added the code then and there. It didnt 'take' however :(

    What am I doing wrong?

Since BV is itself a template behind which html coding is used, where can we go to insert 'outside' html coding?

I'm itching to get my hover window up and running - so any quick feedback would be very much appreciated!!

    thanks in advance!!

Re: Inserting html coding into BV

Hi, depends on what sort of code you have to insert? Some go into an html box; some go into other parts of the page. If you right click on an empty area of your page in BV, then select page HTML. You will be able to insert code into other areas of the page.

Re: Inserting html coding into BV

      Hi Chris,

tks! I opened Select Page html, so that was fine, but then found I couldn't just edit the copy IN the html box - frustrating.

The Aweber tutorial said put the following copy - <script type="text/javascript" src="<A href="http://forms.aweber.com/form/14/1143889414.js"></script">http://forms.aweber.com/form/14/1143889414.js"></script>
straight after the 1st <Body tag. Hit enter, insert the above piece of code, save, and it'll work.

But it doesn't allow me to enter IN the box. Oh hold on... late flash... hey, I could do it!! LOL! You go to the tabs/tags and in this case it was the Inside Body Tag, I had to Enter to put a space as they said, and there it sits - now as part of the page's coding?

So I published it to the Net and it should work... let me just check my home page... no, not appearing yet... but it should be right in time... I find that changes I make to my pages dont 'catch' for several days... does anyone else have that? (this happens even if I clean my cache out) I would have hoped that a change you make to your site is immediately reflected on the site but not in my case... am I doing something wrong?

Anyway, that should solve it. ... lol :-

      But thanks Chris!
