RSS feeds

I've been really trying to add some RSS feeds to my site, but to no avail for some reason. Do I have to do anything special to get my site to support some of these types of php script, I've looked at Carp, and it is a php script, but one would think there is an easier way. Somebody with any info on this I would sure appreciate.
