  • Making a gif file?

    Hi,

I'm trying to keep my font the same as I see it, no one else sees what I do. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

    Yhanks,

If it isn't one of the web friendly fonts everybody won't see it unless they also have it installed on their computers.
You can however make a doc in a pdf or jpeg or gif and that will work, but I think then spiders cant see it.. look for Beths comments on this:

Or what you can do is make an image of the text. Create a jpeg (save for web) of the text you want and then insert it like an image. That is what I did with my logo and header text on my home page. Everyone can see them.

Your dynamic menu isnt functioning correctly. Whenever i click a submenu that pops off the side i get a 404 not found and sometimes when i click the back button i end up on google search.

            Sharon,
Karens response was to Dori's website, I believe.

As to using a non-webfriendly font - I seriously advise against it. And I advise even more against entering your text as an image - as then the se's can't read it either. I do suggest you change to one of the web friendly fonts!

(It's fine for a logo, header - to do the image - and recommended there - but not for text on the page.)

                Sharon,
You can make those as images - as long as you have the proper alt text and link them to the pages - the se's will see the alt and the link.

                    Re: Making a gif file?

if you put them in as images, when you right click and go to properties - there is a place to put information about the image "alternate Text" just put your info there - when you hover over the image this will show up and be read by se
                    hope that helps

Would someone look and see if they see Brushed Script?

                        Re: Making a gif file?

I didn't know what that should look like - so went on line to see- and found an image of it - I figured it was a type of script - If you have used it for your navigation, no, I'm not seeing it, as I don't have that one (and I have hundreds of fonts) on my computer.

Yep, you would have to make each button individually with the words already on them - if you want to use that font.

Hi Sharon... I agree with Bethers as to NOT creating a whole bunch of text as an image. Headers and subheaders are okay to do but it will hurt you in the long run with the se's if you create blocks of text this way AND THEN when you have to edit that text.... LOL
