  • Problem with html!

    Hi everyone.

I'm currently working on a slideshow where i plan to import it into the index page on my website www.georgesutherland.com . However, when reading the BlueVoda tutorial for setting up html to make this possible it asks me to enter my hmtl code and shows an example with a lot of computer language. Forgive me for being such a novice but what does this mean? Where do I find this information ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Teddybear.

This all depend on what program you are creating your slideshow. the like of coffeecup give you a code after saving which you would paste into a html box on your bluevoda page.

I use a slide/video software called Pro Show Producer. ..when it produces a show for the web. . .it will produce the html code for placing it on your site. ..See if your slide software has a similar feature for posting your work on the web. . .if so, just set-up the html box and paste the html code in. (Don't forget to upload your slide file into your FTP public file.

        Re: Problem with html!

There are many different programs out there and their instructions can seem a bit intimidating to some. Usually, I just copy and paste the code into a new Notepad document and save as html file and then upload to website using BlueFTP. Then I just stick an I-Frame on my page that I want to show and set the url to the html file I uploaded that has the slideshow code. Voila.

Of course, you have to have the IFrame made to be the same dimensions as the slideshow and turn of scrollbars, etc. as well as any other properties you like. But for the most part it should be that simple.

Some of these slideshow/photoshow builders may require additional snippets of code to be insterted into the "<HEAD>" section of your page and a separate snippet inserted in the "<BODY>". I rarely see this with common slideshows, but more advanced ones with certain effects might.

            Hi guys,

Thanks for all the info above. I will get a chance to try it all out in a day or two when I have some spare time. The site I was going to use is called Kool Moves (recommended in another thread) and I think that the problem is due to the fact i have only been using their trial offer which I downloaded. As it doesn't give me the opportunity to save anything I was unaware this would ultimately give me the necessary code to place in BlueVoda.

I'll be sure to let you know how I go.

            kind regards,
            Teddybear.
