  • pre-load image problem

I got this preload image script from dynamic drive:

I put it on my site a and it makes the site run much faster on the home page.

The problem is the progress bar fills up... and then it is supposed to jump to the homepage, but it just sits there.

Can someone please look at and help?

    Thanks in advance.

        Thank you....
That's strange, it won't redirect after the pre-load for me.
It only took about 6 or 7 sec. for it to load for me.
        I don't understand?

          Re: pre-load image problem

Also does not jump to your homepage when I view it Pennies. I have looked at your code and compared it with DynamicDrive's code and could not find anything strange, except that your image file names have Capital letter in. We know page names are small letters, but I can't recall about images, if it can be Capital letters or not...

In the original code they specify http://domainname.com. Yours has the www. in as well. Maybe you need to remove the www.

Look, I'm no html expert and could make an idiot of myself, but these are the differences I spotted.
          Bless you
          Tom

            Oh, Ok I'll try that

You know I looked at that code about a thousand times and didn't see a difference.

            Good eyes. Thanks :)

              Re: pre-load image problem

It was a good try but that didn't fix it.

Although, on the good side I found a link that was missing the root directory.

Thanks Again for taking the time. :)

                  Re: pre-load image problem

Are there any scripties out there that can have a look at the source code for this page and tell me what I did wrong?

I still can't figure out why it won't redirect after the pre-load.

                  Please help. :(

                    Re: pre-load image problem

                    I got it!!!!!!!!!

I didn't fix the problem with that script but,

I didn't that you could preload images with out a separate page and progress bar.

I found a GREAT and easy site that creates a preload image script with your images already in the script.

And this one doesn't even show anyone that it i doing it...
So the person visiting won't be hesitant by a progress bar.

I going to post another thread about this so everyone can use it. :)

Your pages was doing fine before you installed it, so why create complications
                        just remove it.

I tested the link it will not redirect.

To lighten your images resize all your images to the viewing size on your page as the visitors see's them no larger. This will speed up the loading of your images. I Suspect your images are oversized for its intended purpose.

Thank you zuriatman for your help.

I already solved the problem by getting rid of the the script with the progress bar and extra page, and used a script that pre-loads the images on the home page it self.

It was actually a pretty handy tool that I made the script with...
It's on the post I linked to just above.

Thank you again for taking the time though...
