        Re: paypal free?

Hi, No, your customers should be able to pay by most credit cards. But I believe you have to have one of the upper PP accounts for this. But let others confer.
        As for charges. http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...y-fees-outside

Thanks for all you're help, I have one more question though, Is there a way to make paypal's button go away after I run out of the item. I dont want to charge my customer for something I don't have. If there isn't with paypal, do you know of any?

Hi, i dont think PP do this & think you may need a script to do this. Have a look at some of Navaldesign's posts as i think he is working on this type of thing.
            Regards Chris.

                  Re: paypal free?

You will need a business or premier acount for website payments. They cost nothing monthly, but they do have transaction fees based on the amount. I dont remember what they are exactly cuz i use it so infrequently. If you start getting ALOT of money thru paypal, consider a merchant account instead, even with the monthly fees it will be cheaper in the end to process. Starting out.. paypal is great! or in instances where its extremely difficult to get a merchant account its great.

In any case. with these type of accounts, you dont pay a fee unless you make a sale.

Totally agree, paypal has a few flaws, one being there chargeback policy which is perfect for scammers claiming their money back. Ebay own paypal which means that it has become far too big for them to properly control. I am not going to place here what scammers do to abuse paypal, but something needs to be tightened.

Having said that most people are honest and it works for my needs for the time being.

Paypal charge 5% on all transactions. The other person does not need a paypal account but I think once they pay they become a memeber anyway, repeat buyers of me say that instead of asking for cc detials it asks them for paypal details. I think this is a new policy to get new members.
