    Re: Password

    Hi,

Check the threads at mySQL & PHP link at this forum http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/mysql-php.html.

There are so many threads related with what You're looking for in there.

Use the search link and use search words as password, login, etc, etc, it works beatifully.

After this search, and after reading some of these acess/login/password threads , You still think You're not able to do it alone, post this thread there.

Thanks for that. The Tutorial tells you how to Password protect a Directory. Is that the same as one page?

        Try here:

I hope this helps, If I am not helping please understand that I am not one of the admin's of the forum or something like that, just an anonymous user like You.

Place the page You want to protect inside of that directory.

          Re: Password

If you feel ok with creating/assigning the usernames and passwors yourself, then you can use a password protected firectory as suggested.

If you need a membership like script, wher users can register themselves, view and edit their profile, login, logout, have pages protected so that just registered users can see them etc, you need a login script. Have a look at http://www.dbtechnosystems.com/logginexamples.php

Hi ... a directory is the file folder that contains your pages ..

As your public_html directory (file folder) contains all of the pages to your main domains website ..

For instance, If you added on a domain, you would find this directory (file folder) for this domain inside of your public_html directory ...

Password protecting a directory means that .. the directory you wish to protect will be created when you do this .. and then you would publish that page to that directory you created - then when the page name is typed in they will arrive at the log in station for this directory ...

For instance, if the password directory you create is called *****s .. you would then publish this page that you want to be protected within this directory to public_html/*****s - (*****s being the file folder/directory) that is password protected) - publish your page to this directory and it will be protected ...
