Thank you for your response to this thread, how can I open my first page in "text mode" to insert the hit conter from the page you have suggested?

I'm not sure where you're having the problem, George. All you need to do is click the HTML option on the left toolbar and that will bring up a gray/silver box. Double click that and paste your code into it, save the page and publish. Stat counter code is invisible, so placement doesn't matter much.

Re: Creating guest book and installing hit counter

I am trying to install the counter ***** suggested in the thread above. I would like to have a visible one on my website. I'd followed all the steps the site advised, but I am sure I've missed some vital information as I am not able to publish my modified first page (I have just text mode as I do not know how to convert it back) on my domain website. Regarding guest book, the viper works well :).

You need to change the name of your home page to index, all lower case letters.

In Blue Voda. Right now, the first page of your site is named incorrectly and your site is not viewable. Open the page you want to use as your main page, save as index and republish.

Now you need to find a counter you like and put it in your pages. You said you want a visible one? Try this: http://www.amazingcounters.com/?ref=gad022. If you don't like that, just run a Google search, you'll find plenty.

How to progress from here to put the code in my website?
